CompTIA has announced the launch of new AI Essentials and Expansion Series certification programs designed to help individuals develop and maintain AI skills. The Essentials series, set to be released in July 2024, will focus on a range of tech career areas and roles including software development, cybersecurity, systems operations (SysOps), and data analytics. It will also cover job roles like prompt engineering and AI systems architecture.

The program is designed to be applicable to any occupation, whether in tech-specific positions or adjacent roles that rely on technology. It covers topics such as the landscape of AI, available AI tools, challenges in AI, benefits of AI for creativity and work enhancement, and future implications of AI.

In addition to the Essentials series, CompTIA has also launched an Expansion series aimed at individuals with CompTIA Plus (+) or Pro certification in areas like security engineering, penetration testing, security analysis, data analysis, systems operations, tech support, AI systems architecture
