Top Spring Sports Performers Recognized in Memphis Area High Schools: Baseball and Softball Standouts Impress

In Week 10 of the 2024 season, top performers from Memphis area high school spring sports were recognized. In baseball, Caleb Lassiter of Briarcrest got the save in a 3-2 Game 1 victory over CBHS. Aidan McCrady, also from Briarcrest, was the winning pitcher, allowing four hits and striking out seven in 6.2 innings. On the other hand, Ty Holman of CBHS allowed two hits in six innings pitched in a 3-2 Game 1 loss to Briarcrest. Hank Stalnaker of CBHS had two hits as well. In Game 2, Taylor Brady of Briarcrest had two RBIs in a 4-3 win over CBHS with Carter Lamb as the winning pitcher in relief and Caleb Lassiter getting the save.

In softball, Breleigh Bunker of Arlington was impressive with her performance as she went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in a 10-5 victory over Collierville. Grace Pentecost also contributed to Arlington’s win by going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Aliya Garcia of Brighton had two hits and Adin Shelton had a home run for their team’s win against Munford. Laney Lawson of Brighton went the distance scattering six hits while Bradleigh Biggs went on to score three runs for ECS during their win over Trinity Christian Academy. Lily Beth Carpenter made significant contributions along with Robin Daughhetee, Julianna Lewis, Natalie Regel and Neely Wilder to ECS’s victory over Trinity Christian Academy with her impressive performance.
