The 2024 FIM Supermoto World Championship kicked off in Spain with the GP of Comunitat Valenciana in Albaida. It was a thrilling race as French rider Thomas Chareyre emerged victorious in the opening round of the championship. Riding a Honda CRF450R, Chareyre battled it out with the number-one plate holder, Mark Reiner Schmidt of Germany, to claim the overall win.
In the SuperMoto Legends class, Czech rider Petr Vorlicek on a Honda clinched the victory with Great Britain’s Jay Smith on KTM and Scott Murray on Honda following close behind. German rider Mark Reiner Schmidt finished as the runner-up on a TM bike. The next round, GP of Sardegna, is scheduled for May 25-26.
