Louis Leterrier tapped to helm ‘11817,’ a science fiction horror project making its sales debut at Cannes.

The Trapped Family: A New Sci-Fi Horror Thriller Directed by Louis Leterrier Set to Premiere at Cannes

The sci-fi horror film 11817, directed and produced by Louis Leterrier, is currently being presented to buyers at Cannes by Rocket Science. Written by Matthew Robinson, the story follows a family of four who are trapped inside their house indefinitely by inexplicable forces. As they run out of both modern luxuries and life essentials, they must learn to be resourceful in order to survive and outsmart whatever is keeping them trapped.

The film is currently in the casting stage and will be produced by Leterrier’s Carrousel Studios, Rocket Science, Thank You Studios, Chernin Entertainment (A North Road Company), and 3 Arts Entertainment. Various producers involved in the project include Leterrier, Thomas Benski, Omar Sy, Lars Sylvest, Kori Adelson, Oly Obst, Thorsten Schumacher, Joe Neurauter, and Cecile Gaget. Rocket Science will handle foreign sales and fully finance the project, while CAA Media Finance will represent domestic rights.

Louis Leterrier expressed his excitement about the film’s original concept and the family at the center of the story. He emphasized the importance of creating projects where the audience can connect with and root for the characters. In addition to this film, Leterrier has also produced and directed hit TV shows like Netflix’s Lupin and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

Rocket Science’s Cannes slate this year also includes other exciting projects such as Ali Abbasi’s Donald Trump pic The Apprentice and Cliffhanger. Leterrier is represented by CAA Entertainment 360/LBI/Sloan Offer Weber & Dern/UBBA in France while Robinson is represented by CAA/3 Arts/Ziffren Brittenham.[
