Taylor Pendrith Secures First PGA Tour Victory at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, While Others Earn Spot in Upcoming Tournaments
Taylor Pendrith had a remarkable day as he secured his first PGA Tour victory at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. Ben Kohles and Alex Noren also had a strong showing, finishing second and third, respectively, at TPC Craig Ranch. Pendrith’s win means he will have the opportunity to compete in the final three signature events of the season, including the Wells Fargo Championship, Memorial Tournament, and Travelers Championship.
Meanwhile, Chad Ramey finished just outside of the top five in the Swing 5 rankings, while the Aon Next 10 group had minimal changes since the RBC Heritage event. Shane Lowry, who won Zurich with Rory McIlroy, moved into the top 10 of the Next 10 rankings, joining Ludvig Åberg and Matthieu Pavon. Stephan Jaeger, Will Zalatoris, Akshay Bhatia, Jake Knapp, Justin Thomas, Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Austin Eckroat also made it to this list.
These players qualified for upcoming tournaments based on their combined point totals from three events: Corales Puntacana Championship, Zurich Classic and Nelson. The top five players who accumulated the most points from these three events were Pendrith, Kohles
