GeoLith SAS has entered into an alliance agreement with KBR to offer the Li-Capt technology for direct lithium extraction. This technology allows for lithium extraction without emissions from untapped sources such as geothermal and oil well brines, making it a sustainable solution. The agreement makes KBR the exclusive global licensor of Li-Capt technology, which can produce pure lithium concentrate from various brine compositions.

KBR’s expertise in the recovery and purification of critical minerals comes from over seven decades of experience in evaporation and crystallization technologies. These technologies have been developed to meet evolving environmental regulations, ensuring sustainable and environmentally friendly extraction processes. Li-Capt is adaptable to different extraction sources, providing an end-to-end solution for clients to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate or lithium hydroxide monohydrate, which are essential for advanced batteries used in electric vehicles. In combination with KBR’s existing suite of battery material technologies, including PureLiSM for high purity lithium production, Li-Capt offers a comprehensive solution for lithium extraction.
