Gary Mensch, a business owner in Sulphur, Oklahoma, is struggling to come to terms with the devastation caused by tornadoes that hit the city on Saturday night. His family’s furniture store, JJ’s Furniture, was one of many businesses severely damaged in the storm.
Mensch had poured 25 years of hard work and dedication into the business, which left him feeling helpless as he surveyed the wreckage. The roof of the store was completely torn off, leaving debris and bricks scattered everywhere. The water damage had ruined much of the wooden furniture inside, leaving little hope of salvaging anything.
Despite the devastation, Mensch remains hopeful for his community’s ability to recover and rebuild. At least 30 people were injured in the tornado, with one woman tragically losing her life after being pulled from the debris of a downtown bar. However, Mensch believes that there is resilience and strength in the community that will help them overcome this tragedy.
As they begin the long process of recovery and rebuilding, Mensch urges his fellow residents to stay positive and focused on the future. The aftermath of the tornado may be overwhelming, but he believes that with time and effort, they can overcome this tragedy together.
