Three surfers from another country killed in a botched robbery in Mexico, three suspects taken into custody

Surfers Tragically Murdered in Mexico: Robbery Gone Wrong Leaves Community Shaken

Three surfers, two Australians and an American, are believed to have been murdered in a robbery gone wrong in Mexico, according to Mexican authorities. The victims were on a surfing holiday on the Mexican coast when they disappeared last weekend. They were last seen in northern Baja California state, in far northeastern Mexico.

When the Australians did not show up at their previously booked Airbnb and Rhoades didn’t show up for work in San Diego, their social media channels suddenly went silent, prompting concern and a missing persons report. The trio’s car was later found burned out near their campsite. On Saturday, the bodies of the three friends were discovered in a 15-meter deep well.

Mexican authorities have launched a murder investigation, with prosecutor Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez stating that everything indicates the three friends were murdered during a robbery in which they allegedly resisted, leading to their deaths. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, with reports indicating that one of the suspects was found in possession of narcotics and had the phone of one of the Robinson brothers.
