Streamlined Permitting for Vendors at Special Events in Northern Nevada: Ensuring Food Safety and Convenience with New System Launched by Public Health Officials

Vendors at special events in Northern Nevada can now easily comply with regulations and ensure the safety of the food they serve, thanks to a new temporary food establishment permit and online application system launched by Northern Nevada Public Health. Starting July 1, vendors who operate at more than five special events in a calendar year will have the option to use one permit for the entire year, rather than obtaining a new permit for each event.

The new system is designed to streamline the permitting and inspection process while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Vendors applying for the permit will need to use a servicing area, such as a commercial kitchen with a valid county health permit. In addition, vendors will now have the ability to apply for and pay for temporary food establishment permits online, making it more convenient to comply with regulations.

To provide more information about the new permit system and answer any questions, Northern Nevada Public Health will be hosting a public forum on May 7 at 5:30 p.m. at NNPH Conference Rooms A/B located at 1001 E. 9th Street, Building B.
