Snake on the Loose in Dessau-Roßlau: Authorities Search for Dangerous King Snake
Residents of Viethstrasse in Dessau-Roßlau, Saxony-Anhalt, are on high alert as a dangerous boa constrictor is reportedly roaming freely in the area. The snake has never been seen before and its presence has caused fear among residents.
The only clue authorities have is a two-meter-long snake skin that was found in the stairwell of a new building. This has led authorities to suspect it could be a king snake. Emergency services have been searching for the snake since Sunday but as of Tuesday, it has not been found.
Boa constrictors are native to South America and can grow up to three meters long. They kill their prey by entangling and strangling them with their powerful muscles. Keeping such an exotic animal requires approval from an official veterinarian in Saxony-Anhalt. However, residents have not been reported for any illegal keeping of snakes.
Residents are advised to remain cautious until the snake is found and not to approach it if they encounter it. Authorities have urged residents to contact them immediately if they see any suspicious activity or come across the boa constrictor.
