Skytrax 2021 World’s Best Airport Hotels: The US Dominates the Rankings
In recent years, airport hotels have undergone a transformation from drab and last-resort options to luxurious and highly sought-after accommodations. This is evident in the annual rankings released by Skytrax, the star rating program for airlines and airports. Two U.S. airports have made it to the global top 10, with one reaching number three.
Skytrax uses guest surveys to determine the rankings of airport hotels based on overall experience, accessibility, cleanliness, in-room amenities, quality of facilities and restaurants, and value for money. The TWA Hotel at JFK International Airport in NYC has been ranked number three in the world.
In North America, the top five airport hotels are all located in the U.S., with the exception of one. The top five include TWA Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Fairmont at Vancouver International Airport in Canada, Grand Hyatt at San Francisco International Airport, The Westin at San Francisco International Airport, and The Westin at Denver International Airport.
The Grand Hyatt at San Francisco International Airport is also among the global top 10 airport hotels along with Hyatt Regency Shenzhen Airport in China and Crowne Plaza Changi Airport in Singapore.
