Saying Goodbye to a Nexus of Creativity: Stitch in Time, Howell’s Beloved Yarn Store

Stitch in Time, a beloved specialty yarn store in Howell, will be closing its doors in October. After more than 30 years of serving the community, owner Charlene Hatfield has announced her retirement on May 1. The store first opened in 1991 and has been a hub for creativity, connection, and shared projects throughout the years.

In a heartfelt message to customers, Hatfield expressed her gratitude for the unwavering support and love for the craft that the community has shown over the past three decades. She thanked her family, especially her husband, for their support in this endeavor. As she prepares to say goodbye to the store, Hatfield emphasized that the memories created together will always be cherished.

Stitch in Time is currently preparing for its closure and encourages customers to follow the store on Facebook for updates on closing sales and store events. The prime retail space will soon be available for rent, and those interested can contact Hatfield for more information. Additionally, fixtures from the store are also available for sale.

Until its closure, Stitch in Time will maintain its regular hours of operation, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m
