Russian forces breach Ukrainian defenses, launch attacks on power plants

Russian Military Strikes Ukrainian Facilities; Ukraine Calls for International Assistance; Ukraine Launches Drone Attack on Krasnodar Region

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced yesterday that its forces conducted 35 strikes on various Ukrainian facilities, including energy plants, military equipment factories, railway infrastructure, air defenses, and ammunition stocks. This came at a time when the Ukrainian president called for the urgent deployment of anti-aircraft systems and Belgian expressed its intention to provide Ukraine with 4 F-16 fighter jets.

Ukraine reported damage to four thermal plants due to intense Russian missile attacks, leading to power outages in several regions. Meanwhile, Russian forces from the “South” group had taken control of certain areas in Donetsk and advanced deep into Ukrainian defenses, targeting multiple Ukrainian brigades. In response, Ukrainian President Zelensky called for international assistance in shooting down Russian missiles and drones.

On the other hand, Ukraine launched a drone attack on the Krasnodar region in Russia, hitting oil refineries and a military air base. Belgian Prime Minister and Defense Minister hinted at providing Ukraine with F-16 fighters while Canada allocated funds for the Ukrainian drone industry. Canadian Defense Minister announced a contribution of 3 million Canadian dollars to support drone manufacturing in Ukraine, marking Canada’s first direct involvement in this sector in Ukraine.
