Revamping Social Housing Policies: Minister Kasbarian’s Crusade Against Delinquent Children and Families

Guillaume Kasbarian, the Minister Delegate for Housing, has acknowledged the need to reevaluate the current laws and regulations governing social housing to better address delinquent children and their families. In a recent interview, he expressed his willingness to consider changing the law to enhance the ability to evict families who do not adhere to the rules and regulations of social housing.

Kasbarian emphasized that when evaluating who resides in social housing, factors such as income, heritage, and behavior must be taken into consideration. He highlighted the importance of addressing incivility, offenses, and crimes among social housing tenants.

While there are already existing provisions in place regarding delinquent tenants in social housing, Kasbarian believes that these measures can be strengthened. He presented a bill related to affordable housing supply and suggested that improvements could be made in addressing delinquent behavior among social housing residents.

Kasbarian emphasized the need for collaboration with government officials and lawmakers to create effective legislation on this issue. He expressed his belief that individuals who reside in social housing should not be negatively impacted by the actions of those who do not respect the law or engage in delinquent behavior.

In summary, Kasbarian is committed to creating a safe and respectful environment for all residents of social housing by reevaluating current laws and regulations governing delinquency among tenants.
