Rebecca Andrade’s Olympic Debut: The Rising Star of Gymnastics is Ready to Shine at the World Challenge Cup

Rebecca Andrade, Brazil’s most decorated gymnast ever, is set to make her Olympic season debut at the World Challenge Cup in Antalya, Turkey on Friday, March 29. The 24-year-old will be competing on the uneven bars as she prepares for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which are less than four months away. Andrade is expected to be one of the standout stars of the artistic gymnastics competition in the French capital.

Following her success at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where she won vault gold and all-around silver, Andrade has continued to make history in the sport. She has achieved numerous accolades, including a 2022 World all-around gold, Brazil’s first World team medal, and a five-medal haul at the 2023 Worlds.

In Antalya, Andrade will be joined by other top gymnasts such as 2016 Olympic balance beam champion Sanne Wevers, World team bronze medallist Melanie de Jesus dos Santos, uneven bars World silver medalist Kaylia Nemour, and her Brazil teammates Flavia Saraiva, Lorrane Oliveira, and Jade Barbosa. Additionally, eight-time Olympian Oksana Chusovitina is set to compete on all four apparatus as she prepares for the Asian Championships, her last opportunity to qualify for the Paris Olympic Games.
