Eight sociologists honored by leading science organizations

Prestigious Sociologists Join the American Academy of Arts & Sciences and ASA: Celebrating Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Sociology

In 2024, six sociologists from prestigious universities have been elected to join the American Academy of Arts & Sciences’ cohort of new members. These scholars have been recognized for their exceptional contributions to the field of sociology and are invited to collaborate with other distinguished individuals from various fields. The American Association for the Advancement of Science has also named two sociologists as fellows in its newest class, honoring their outstanding work in advancing science and its applications in service to society.

The American Sociological Association (ASA) is a nonprofit membership association that supports sociologists in their research, promotes sociology as a science and profession, and encourages the use of sociology by society. Congratulations to these exceptional sociologists on their well-deserved recognition in their respective science associations!
