Petersburg Man Charged with Rape and Sodomy in Waynesboro Assault: Trial Set to Begin September 17

A man from Petersburg, Jamie Chacon, 44, is facing charges of rape and forcible sodomy in connection with an alleged assault on a woman at a Waynesboro business where she worked last summer. The incident took place at the Eagle Game Room on West Main Street, which has since closed.

Chacon was initially charged with rape in September and has been in jail since then. Recently, he was indicted by the Waynesboro grand jury on two additional felony charges of forcible sodomy. He remains incarcerated at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona as he awaits trial.

The trial is set to begin on September 17 at Waynesboro Circuit Court.
