Oregon transfer class rises to 2nd place following additions of Alabama S Peyton Woodyard and Michigan State DT Derrick Harmon

Oregon’s Transfer Portal Recruitment Strategy: Strengthening the Ducks for Big Ten Success

Oregon’s recruiting efforts have been successful over the weekend, particularly in the transfer portal. Derrick Harmon, a transfer defensive tackle from Michigan State, committed to the Ducks on Friday. This was followed by the commitment of Peyton Woodyard, a highly rated safety who transferred from Alabama and joined the team on Sunday.

These additions have strengthened Oregon’s roster, positioning them as the second-ranked team in the 247Sports transfer portal team rankings. The Ducks have secured a total of 14 players from the transfer portal as they prepare for their debut season in the Big Ten. Notable additions include quarterback Dillon Gabriel, wide receiver Evan Stewart, and cornerback Jabbar Muhammad, all of whom bring valuable experience from top programs.

Despite Ohio State being favored to win the Big Ten title in 2024, many believe that Oregon poses a significant threat to their reign. The Ducks’ strong recruitment efforts at both high school and transfer levels have put them in a favorable position to succeed and challenge conventional expectations for new teams in Power Four conferences.
