Nouvel, Valley Lutheran earn soccer district wins

Nouvel Catholic and Valley Lutheran claimed first-round district soccer wins, establishing a 3rd showdown between the Division 4 powers.

Nouvel cruised to a 7-1 win over Montrose, whereas Valley Lutheran shut out Laker Excessive, 4-0, in first-round video games Thursday. The staff will meet in a Division 4 district semifinal at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Valley Lutheran.

Valley Lutheran improved to 12-2-3 with the win over Laker.
