New Zealand Unveils 15-Man T20 World Cup Squad with Devon Conway and Kane Williamson Leading the Way”.
New Zealand’s provisional 15-man squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup includes Devon Conway, with Kane Williamson leading the team. The squad also features experienced players such as Tim Southee and Trent Boult. Ben Sears has been named as the 16th travelling reserve in the squad.
In February, Conway was ruled out of the IPL due to a thumb injury he sustained. Williamson is back as captain after missing the last two T20I series – one against Australia at home because of the birth of his child and the Pakistan tour due to IPL commitments. Adam Milne is unavailable due to ankle surgery, while Kyle Jamieson continues his recovery from a stress fracture in his lower back.
The squad includes Allen, Bracewell, Chapman, Neesham and Sodhi, who were part of New Zealand’s tour of Pakistan. Coach Gary Stead is confident that the squad has all bases covered and can adapt to various conditions in the West Indies, where the tournament will be held. Stead expressed his satisfaction with the inclusion of players like Matt Henry and Rachin Ravindra in the T20 format.
