Small Business Buzz Being Generated by New Auburn Meadery

New Mom and Entrepreneur Elaina Ferrier Opens Successful Meadery in Auburn, Joining Small Business Community

Elaina Ferrier, a mother of two and a new entrepreneur, opened Comb Grown Mead in Auburn in the summer of 2023. She started her business venture when she was just six months pregnant. The meadery officially opened in July 2023 after Elaina found the perfect space and a landlord to partner with.

As part of National Small Business Week, the Small Business Administration is recognizing Comb Grown Mead among small businesses across New York. Elaina acknowledges the challenges of balancing motherhood with entrepreneurship but finds joy in being a part of her local community and networking with other small business owners.

Being a business owner has allowed Elaina to turn her dream into reality and become a valuable contributor to her community. She appreciates the opportunity to be part of a network of small business owners who support one another in their entrepreneurial endeavors. Comb Grown Mead produces alcoholic beverages made from fermenting honey diluted with water, adding another unique touch to the local community’s offerings.
