New-look India Announces 15-man Squad for 2024 T20 World Cup

India has announced a 15-man squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be led by Rohit Sharma. Some new additions to the squad include Shivam Dube, Rishabh Pant, and Sanju Samson. Legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal has also made a comeback in the squad, having been selected based on his impressive form in the IPL.

Chahal joins other spin options such as Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel. The pace attack includes specialists like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh, with Hardik and Dube providing seam-bowling options.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been chosen as Rohit’s opening partner, while Shubman Gill is among the four reserve players along with Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan.

The Indian team will kick off their campaign in the 2024 T20 World Cup against Ireland on June 5 in New York, followed by matches against Pakistan, USA, and Canada. The squad for the tournament includes Rohit Sharma (captain), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli
