New Leadership and Diverse Expertise Joins Adena Health Board: Meet the New Members

The Adena Health board of trustees has appointed Steve Hirsch as its new chair, succeeding Jennifer McKell. Hirsch, who owns Hirsch Fruit Farm in Chillicothe, will lead the board alongside vice chair Bob French, secretary Brian Ream, and treasurer Kevin Shoemaker. McKell will remain on the board as past chair.

Adena Health’s board has welcomed three new members representing the founding churches of the organization, at-large members, and members from the health system’s medical staff. Penny Dehner, Jim Crabtree, and Sean Kallner have joined the board to bring their diverse backgrounds and expertise to address the needs of the communities served by the health system.

Dehner is a retired behavioral health administrator with years of experience in the field. Crabtree has a background in education, marketing, and telecommunications management. Kallner has a diverse background spanning financial planning, school administration, and business management. They fill the seats previously held by Bart Henshaw, Larry Phillips, and Joe Watson who have served the maximum number of terms on the board.

Adena Health’s board consists of 15 members who bring various expertise and perspectives to address the needs of the communities served by the health system. The departing members were honored with a donation to their preferred Adena Health Foundation fund.
