Construction begins on new Coastal Family Health Center and Pharmacy in Wiggins

New Coastal Family Health Center in Wiggins Set to Boost Access to Affordable and Quality Healthcare for Stone County Residents.

On Monday, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Wiggins for the new Coastal Family Health Center and Pharmacy site. The $1.8 million project has been in development for over six years in Stone County. The decision to establish a new facility in Wiggins was prompted by the distance and transportation barriers faced by residents who were traveling to other facilities on the coast for medical services.

Coastal Family Health Center CEO Angel Greer stated that the project was initiated to address the needs of over 500 Stone County residents. The organization is committed to providing quality and affordable healthcare to all individuals, regardless of their economic or insurance status. Greer announced that the clinic aims to see its first Wiggins patient by mid-September, whether they walk in or utilize the drive-through pharmacy services.

Wiggins Mayor Darrell Berry expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition to the community, highlighting that it will shorten appointment wait times for residents seeking medical attention. The facility’s focus on affordability and inclusivity aligns with the organization’s mission to serve the community’s diverse healthcare needs. Overall, the new Coastal Family Health Center and Pharmacy in Wiggins represents a significant step towards improving access to healthcare services in Stone County.
