Chicago suburb begins construction on new 100-acre sports complex

New $70 Million Sports Complex Set to Revolutionize Southwest Suburban New Lenox with Economic Boost and Community Hub

Officials from southwest suburban New Lenox recently announced the groundbreaking of a new $70 million sports complex, located near Silver Cross Hospital. The New Lenox Crossroads Sports Complex is set to include 29 youth baseball and softball fields, 12 soccer/multi-use fields, a welcome center, a beer garden, batting cages, playground, and concession stands.

In addition to the sports fields, the facility will also feature a fieldhouse for basketball, volleyball, wrestling, pickleball and other sports. Over 10 acres will be dedicated to restaurant, retail or hotel use. The project is expected to create $12 million in economic development for New Lenox in its first year and $20 million by year three. Once fully operational, the complex is expected to produce more than $34 million in annual economic activity with over 1 million visitors each year.
