Muncy’s Super Stars Lead to Another Mid-Penn Championship with Stellar Performance

Muncy’s Nolah Moyer and Taylor Shannon led their team to a dominant 13-0 win over Bucktail, capturing a second consecutive Mid-Penn championship. Moyer, a Division I St. Bonaventura commit, threw a one-hit shutout and went 3 for 3 at the plate, hitting two home runs and driving in five runs. Shannon also had a big day, going 3 for 3 with two home runs and five RBIs.

Moyer quickly put Muncy on the board with a two-run home run in the first inning. She added two more runs with a bases loaded single in the second inning, taking the lead to 5-0. Shannon then hit a three-run home run to make it 8-0 in favor of Muncy. Both Moyer and Shannon finished with five RBIs each as Muncy cruised to victory.

Bucktail’s Gianna Balchun broke up Moyer’s no-hit bid in the fifth inning with a hit. Despite the loss, Bucktail heads into their final week of the regular season preparing for a matchup with Jersey Shore. Muncy, on the other hand, remains undefeated and will face Mifflinburg in their next game.

Kaylyn Rice and Casey Fry contributed with doubles for Bucktail, with Rice driving in a run and Fry scoring three times. The final score was Muncy 13, Bucktail 0 in five innings. Moyer picked up the win on the mound while Wagner took the loss for Bucktail.
