In 2019, Joe Nichols, a previously healthy individual, found himself facing cardiac arrest, heart blockages, and congestive heart failure. Thanks to the outstanding care he received from the cardiac team at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, Joe now considers himself lucky to be alive.
Joe’s wife, Carol, praised the team for their exceptional care and for always taking her husband’s concerns into consideration when making treatment decisions. Without their quick responses, Joe may not have survived.
In gratitude for the care Joe received, he and Carol decided to send a thank-you letter and make a generous donation of $5,000 to the Heart & Vascular Grateful Patient and Family Program Fund at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. This initial donation was followed by an additional $1,500 contribution the following year.
Joe and Carol plan to continue supporting the WellSpan Foundation with future donations to show their ongoing appreciation for the care Joe received during his health crisis. The couple hopes that their contributions will help others in similar situations receive the same level of exceptional care they experienced at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital.
