High Stakes at the 2024 NFL Draft: Trades and Surprises in store as the First Round Commences

The 2024 NFL Draft has begun, and several teams are considering making trades to acquire top prospects. Will the Minnesota Vikings move to secure a successor for Kirk Cousins? The draft started off with LSU’s Malik Nabers being selected by the Giants at No. 6, just minutes after Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers opted to stay put at No. 5 and chose Notre Dame’s Joe Alt. Marvin Harrison Jr., the first wide receiver off the board, was picked by the Cardinals at 8:54 am ET. The Patriots made a move at No. 3, selecting Drake Maye at 8:49 am ET, while the Washington Commanders followed with Jayden Daniels at No. 2 overall at 8:42 am ET. The Chicago Bears kicked off the draft by selecting Caleb Williams at No. 1 overall at 8:36 am ET.

In earlier news, it was announced that the Eagles and AJ Brown had reached an agreement on a three-year, $96 million extension at approximately 8:34 am ET.
