Miracle Recovery: Rishabh Pant Named to Indian T20 World Cup Squad Despite Serious Car Crash.

After a year of recovery from a serious car crash, Rishabh Pant has been named to the Indian cricket team’s 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Pant, who suffered multiple injuries in the accident in December 2022, recently returned to the game with the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League.

Although there were questions about his lack of recent professional outings, the Indian selectors have shown faith in Pant, who has a strong record in T20 internationals with 987 runs in 66 matches. He joins Rohit Sharma, who will lead the team in their pursuit of a second T20 World Cup title, with Hardik Pandya as his deputy.

The squad also includes power-hitter Rinku Singh, who was named among the four reserve players. Opener Shubman Gill will not be part of the main squad as selectors have opted for Yashasvi Jaiswal as Rohit’s opening partner.
