Minnesota Brewers Make a Splash at 2024 World Beer Cup, Winning Multiple Medals

The 2024 World Beer Cup, held in Las Vegas, saw six Minnesota brewers take home medals for their exceptional beers. The competition, organized by the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, is considered the largest and most prestigious beer competition in the world. With over 9,000 entries from 2,000 breweries competing in 110 categories, it’s often referred to as the “Olympics of beer.”

The Minnesota winners included Bent Paddle Brewing Co. from Duluth who won a gold medal for their German-Style Altbier “Little Dussel Do-Ya.” Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub from Minneapolis also took home a gold medal for their German-Style Doppelbock or Fisbock “Dopplebock,” while Excelsior Brewing Co. received a silver medal for their Fruit Beer “Big Island Citrus Blonde Ale.” Lupulin Brewing from Big Lake won a silver medal for their Dortmunder/Export of German-Style Oktoberfest “Dortmunder,” and BeerClub Brewing from Mora received a bronze medal for their German-Style Doppelbock or Fisbock “Doppel (doppel) Bock (bock).” Lastly, Pryes Brewing Co. from Minneapolis won a bronze medal for their Mixed Culture Brett Beer “Idyll Forest – Soirée.”

Bob Galligan, director of government and industry relations for the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild expressed pride in his state’s brewers for showcasing their world-class beers at this global event. The competition highlights not only these breweries’ exceptional skills but also the diverse range of beer styles that can be found across the country.
