247 Sports Ranks SEC College Football Teams in Power Rankings

Kentucky Wildcats Football Program Prepares for Fall Season with New Offensive Coordinator and Expectations for Fast Play

Spring ball has ended, and the Kentucky Wildcats football program is preparing for the upcoming fall season. While there has been an influx of news surrounding men’s basketball, it is still important to keep up with what’s happening in the football program. Recently, 247 Sports ranked each SEC football team, with Georgia leading the pack and Texas snagging the second position in their first year in the conference.

Kentucky was ranked at number 12, which was slightly disappointing for some. However, according to Brad Crawford from 247 Sports, the Wildcats are expected to be one of the faster teams in the league, with standout players like Barion Brown and Dane Key. Much of Kentucky’s success this season will depend on the new offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan’s ability to integrate first-year QB Brock Vandagriff with these speedy players.

Despite losing key players like running back Ray Davis, it is believed that Kentucky will excel in the trenches with experienced linemen leading the team. The Wildcats are expected to have a strong presence on both sides of the line of scrimmage, with veterans taking on key roles. Crawford emphasized the importance of Vandagriff and Hamdan in ensuring the team remains competitive against other talented SEC teams.

Kentucky’s season will kick off on Saturday, August 31st, with a game against Southern Miss at Kroger Field. Fans can expect to see a fast-paced game with standout players like Barion Brown and Dane Key leading the charge for Kentucky.
