Innovative Sustainability Solutions: Ecolibrium3’s Luncheon Emphasizes the Importance of Green Initiatives in Business
A Business Sustainability Luncheon was hosted by Ecolibrium3 in Duluth on Earth Day, with a focus on the importance of sustainability in businesses. The event, held at Clyde Iron Works, featured a presentation on how industries such as steel, iron, concrete, and transportation can decarbonize and become more environmentally friendly. Jodi Slick, CEO of Ecolibrium3, emphasized the potential for Northeast Minnesota to play a key role in addressing greenhouse gas emissions and fostering economic development in the region.
The first annual Eco Award was presented to WLSSD, a local organization that received recognition for their sustainability efforts. Marianne Bohren, the Executive Director of WLSSD, expressed gratitude for the recognition and highlighted the organization’s role as a resource recovery facility rather than just a solid waste management facility. She emphasized the community benefits that can arise from innovative approaches to waste management.
