IOCL Chooses Lummus’ Cumene Technology for New Project

IndianOil Corp. Ltd. and Lummus Technology Join Forces for Another Cumene Unit in India

IndianOil Corp. Ltd. (IOCL) recently selected Lummus Technology’s cumene technology for a new unit in Paradip, India, marking their second recent cumene license in the country. This collaboration strengthens the relationship between Lummus and IOCL and supports their growth initiatives.

Lummus’ cumene technology offers lower energy costs, operational efficiency, and exceptional product yield, allowing IOCL to optimize their plant economics. Romain Lemoine, Chief Business Officer for Polymers and Petrochemicals at Lummus Technology, expressed excitement about continuing to work with IOCL on this successful project and further building on their long-time relationship.

The scope of work for this project includes the technology license for the cumene technology, basic design engineering, proprietary catalyst, site services, advisory services, and training. IOCL has previously licensed multiple technologies from Lummus for complexes across India, including naphtha cracker, INDMAX FCC, and polypropylene technologies.
