For 42 years, the Franklin County Business Community supplement has been a cherished tradition in the community. Started by former Messenger editor and co-publisher Emerson Lynn in 1983, the supplement was designed to showcase the energy, creativity, and commerce that powers the Franklin County economy. Over the years, it has become a beloved photo album that captures the spirit of the community’s family tree.

The first edition of the supplement was met with immediate and positive responses from readers who enjoyed seeing pictures of their friends and favorite businesses. It quickly became the Messenger’s premier product and was picked up by other newspapers across the state. In 2018, when Jim O’Rourke purchased the Messenger, he continued the tradition of publishing the supplement. And in 2020, the format changed to a high-quality all-color magazine format that added even more vibrancy to the pages.
