The Caring Foundation of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota supports mental health education program

Hockey Teams Band Together to Boost Mental Health Education in North Dakota

In the northeastern corner of North Dakota, four school districts will be able to implement mental health services and curriculum thanks to $24,000 raised by three hockey teams. The Bismarck Bobcats, UND Fighting Hawks, and Fargo Force joined forces to support the Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota Caring Foundation’s Sources of Strength program.

The funds raised will go towards teaching students that everyone faces challenges and providing them with strategies to cope effectively. This mental health awareness and education program aims to empower individuals to overcome adversity and build resilience. Amber Blomberg, the executive director of the BCBSND Caring Foundation, emphasized the importance of providing tools for both youth and adults to successfully navigate life’s challenges.

By supporting this program, these hockey teams are making a significant impact on the lives of young people in North Dakota. Sources of Strength will teach students valuable skills that they can use throughout their lives, helping them overcome any obstacles they may face along the way.
