The Center for Industrial Revolution 4.0 (C4IR) is a new unit that is set to advise and pilot new technologies, proposing the implementation of national industrial policies in Ho Chi Minh City. This information was shared by Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, at a conference held on April 25.
Ho Chi Minh City has recently signed a cooperation agreement with leaders from the World Economic Forum (WEF) to establish C4IR in the city’s High-Tech Park. This will be the second center in Southeast Asia after Malaysia and the 19th in the world. Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan highlighted that C4IR, along with leading technology enterprises in Vietnam, will leverage the global C4IR network’s knowledge and experience, proposing solutions and policies in line with national and international technology trends.
C4IR will operate under the autonomy of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee with a leadership team, operations division, and support sector. The leadership team includes representatives from the government, businesses, and schools with participation from leading businesses implementing innovation initiatives. The operations division will pilot new technology products and engage with stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem while the support sector will build the community provide financial support and facilitate knowledge sharing activities.
The operating model project for C4IR is currently in completion stage defining development roadmap and organizational structure it is expected to be submitted to People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City at end May launch planned for September during Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum event.
