Golden Corral Crash, Elvis-Inspired Hair Salon and Lubbock Business Roundup: What’s Happening This Week

This week in Lubbock, a vehicle crashed through the wall of Golden Corral, but the restaurant officials reassured that they would reopen by the end of the week. In addition to this incident, a new men’s hair salon with a rock ‘n’ roll vibe is set to open soon.

Hairbreak Hotel, located at 2614 130th St., Unit 3, draws inspiration from Elvis Presley. Owner Tristan Chancey shared that his grandmother’s love for Elvis was the motivation behind naming the salon after the iconic song “Heartbreak Hotel.” The salon will also offer an exclusive line of beard oil for customers.

On Monday, we will be featuring Ransom Canyon metalsmith Dawna Gillespie in an article. Gillespie specializes in creating jewelry and ornamental art using brass and copper. She shared insights on the science behind her craft, her choice of medium, and how a Texas Tech course changed her path.

Don’t miss this enlightening article next week as we provide you with an update on new openings, closures and announcements in our monthly business roundup scheduled for Wednesday. Thank you for your continued support of A-J!
