Israeli and Hamas negotiations in Cairo end without a deal

Gaza Talks Leave Both Sides Far From Agreement as Humanitarian Crisis Continues.

In Cairo, recent indirect talks between Hamas and Israel delegations focused on achieving a truce in Gaza. However, after two days of negotiations, no clear results were achieved, as reported by Egyptian state television, Al Qahera News. Despite the presence of mediators and both parties, there were still unresolved controversial points that hampered progress.

According to a security source close to Egyptian Intelligence, the delegations of Hamas and Israel left Cairo without an agreement. The source explained that while Hamas withdrew from the talks without providing reasons, they did confirm their commitment to accepting the truce proposal presented by the mediators. Egypt warned of the danger of escalation in the region if an agreement is not reached between Israel and Hamas.

Representatives of Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian factions joined the negotiations, indicating progress in resolving disputed points and moving closer to reaching an agreement. The truce proposal accepted by Hamas includes various phases aimed at achieving sustainable calm in Gaza and improving conditions for civilians in the region.

Despite ongoing challenges such as Israel’s recent military operation in Rafah, efforts are being made to find a consensus formula and reach an agreement between the two parties. The negotiations come at a critical time when tensions are high in Gaza due to Israeli actions that have caused significant humanitarian crises for Palestinians living in the region.

The failure of these indirect talks highlights how difficult it is for both sides to come to an agreement on contentious issues such as border crossings, access to resources like water and electricity, and restrictions on freedom of movement.

As a result of these ongoing tensions, many Palestinians continue to suffer from poverty, unemployment, lack of basic services like healthcare and education
