Introducing the FTDI-1 Tube DI Interface by Fuchs Audio Technology

Fuchs Audio Technology Launches Affordable and Compact Tube DI Unit, FTDI-1: A Game-Changer for Musicians on a Budget

Fuchs Audio Technology, founded by musician and gear expert Andy with over 40 years of experience, has recently launched the FTDI-1, the first product in a new series of studio and sound reinforcement gear. The company is known for its impressive list of reviews and endorsements spanning two decades.

The Fuchs FT-DI stands out from other tube DI units with its unique combination of tube warmth and compact design, making it ideal for pedalboards and powered by 9-volt power. It utilizes a switch-mode power supply to increase the incoming 9 volts to 300 volts, ensuring the tube runs at proper “True High Voltage.” The unit features a 12AX7 tube and comes with selected low noise Ruby Tubes. At a price of $599.00 MAP, the FTDI-1 is an affordable option on the market.

The FTDI-1 includes a quarter-inch input and a ¼” buffered “through” output, as well as an Edcor transformer balanced output, all connected via Neutrik connectors. Despite its small and lightweight design, the unit has a window that lights up to display the 12AX7 audio tube and is powered by a regulated switch-mode power supply that can work with any pedal power supply capable of delivering 500ma at 9 volts. Overall, the FTDI-1 is a small, cool-running, low-noise, and musical piece of equipment that is perfect for musicians looking for an affordable yet high-quality tube DI unit.
