From Final Four to Olympics: Louisville’s Hailey Van Lith Chooses TCU for Final Season

Hailey Van Lith, a standout player who spent three seasons with Louisville and one season with LSU, has decided to transfer to TCU for her final year. During her time with Louisville, Van Lith made it to the Final Four and another Elite Eight. She averaged 14.5 points, four rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game while playing as a wing. However, at LSU she transitioned to a point guard position and helped the team reach the Elite Eight before losing to Iowa.

Van Lith joins a TCU program that faced challenges due to injuries this season, resulting in forfeiting two games and holding open tryouts to add players to the roster. Despite these challenges, TCU started the season strong with a 13-0 record, including a win over BYU in the Big 12 Conference opener. However, a six-game losing streak followed by the forfeits affected their overall record, finishing at 21-12 with a 6-12 conference record under second-year coach Mark Campbell.

Van Lith is known for her exceptional statistics as the only active Division I player with over 1,900 points, 500 rebounds, and 350 assists. She will be entering TCU as a graduate student and has been actively involved with USA Basketball. Additionally, Van Lith is also a candidate for the 3×3 national team that will be competing at the Paris Olympics this summer.

TCU is excited about Van Lith’s addition to their roster as she brings valuable experience and skills that will help them compete at a higher level in the Big 12 Conference.
