The Chiefs are set to meet with free agent wide receiver Zay Jones on Thursday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. This marks the fourth stop on Jones’ busy tour this week, which has seen him visit the Titans, Cardinals, and Cowboys. At 29 years old, Jones has had a successful career with the Jaguars after spending time with the Raiders and Bills. Injuries limited his production last season to just 34 catches for 321 yards, but he had a strong showing in 2022 with 82 catches for 823 yards.
With legal troubles facing last year’s top receiver, Rashee Rice, the Chiefs entered the offseason with a need to bolster their wide receiver position. In response to this urgent need, they signed Hollywood Brown and drafted Xavier Worthy in the first round. Jones could potentially further strengthen the receiving corps for the 2024 season if he chooses to sign with Kansas City.
