Report: Tyron Billy-Johnson may join Cowboys following visit

Free Agent Receiver Tyron Billy-Johnson Could Sign with the Cowboys

A free agent wide receiver, Tyron Billy-Johnson, is reportedly visiting the Dallas Cowboys and may sign with the team pending a physical examination, according to a report from Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. Billy-Johnson spent most of last season on the Cowboys’ practice squad but did not see any action in a regular-season game.

At 28 years old, Billy-Johnson has moved around between several NFL teams since 2019. These teams include the Texans, Bills, Panthers, Chargers, Jaguars, Raiders, Bengals, 49ers and Cowboys. Throughout his career, he has played in 26 games with one start which occurred in 2022 with the Houston Texans. During his time on the field, Billy-Johnson has recorded 23 receptions for 422 yards and three touchdowns resulting in an impressive average of 18.3 yards per catch.

Apart from his skills as a receiver, Billy-Johnson has also contributed to special teams by returning 14 punts with an average of 19.1 yards per return. If he ends up signing with the Cowboys, he could bring a versatile set of abilities to the team’s roster for the upcoming season.
