Fort William Welcomes Downhill Racing Back with a Vengeance: A 2024 World Cup Preview

Downhill racing has returned to Fort William for the first time in nine years as the series kicks off its 2024 season. The event marks the 21st World Cup or Championship held at Fort William, with the course being refreshed for this year to shorten the overall track time.

During practice runs, bikes and riders have already taken a toll from the increased speeds and challenging terrain, featuring brutal rocks. However, with timed training sessions on day one of elites and juniors, an early glimpse into who is feeling confident for the weekend ahead is provided. Vali Höll and Dakotah Norton posted the fastest times of the day, adjusting to new team setups for 2024.

As we move closer to qualifying and semi-finals, all riders are gearing up to compete against the clock once more. The competition at Fort William promises to be intense, with riders pushing themselves to their limits on this challenging course.
