Former Indian Cricketer Irfan Pathan Reveals Ideal Lineup for ICC T20 World Cup
Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has weighed in on the selection of Team India’s squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, set to be announced by May 1. In a video posted by Star Sports on social media, Pathan offered his ideal lineup for the tournament.
Pathan suggested that captain Rohit Sharma should open alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, with Virat Kohli at number three and Suryakumar Yadav at number four in the batting order. He also recommended Rinku Singh, Rishabh Pant (WK), and Shivam Dube for positions five and six, and Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja for seven and eight.
When it comes to the spin department, Pathan believes that Kuldeep Yadav should be included in the squad. He also mentioned that there is a debate over an extra batter, with Shubman Gill and Sanju Samson being potential options. If one of them is not selected in the main squad, he could potentially be a traveling reserve.
In terms of fast bowlers, Pathan suggested Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammed Siraj for inclusion in the squad.
