Exploring the Wonders of Kentucky: Discovering the New Kentucky Science Trail

The Kentucky Science Trail is a new initiative launched by the Kentucky Academy of Science (KAS) that highlights the natural and technological marvels of the state. With over 70 attractions across the state, there is something for everyone to explore and discover. These sites include museums, nature preserves, engineering wonders, geological tours, live animal encounters, and more.

Some of the attractions in Northern Kentucky include the Newport Aquarium, the Boone County Arboretum, Big Bone Lick State Historic Site, and the Geologic Tour of Boone County. The KAS website provides descriptions and links to each attraction, as well as an interactive map to help visitors easily locate nearby attractions.

Amanda Fuller, Executive Director of KAS, emphasized the importance of showcasing these scientific wonders and encouraging families and individuals to explore them. She aims to cultivate curiosity and a passion for learning about the world around us through this trail. KAS is a non-profit organization established in 1914 with a mission to promote scientific communication and collaboration to enhance research, education, and evidence-based engagement with the public.
