Exploring the Frontiers of Science and Technology: CAST Celebrates Advancements and Inspires Next Generation

Science and Technology Week, hosted by the College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST), took place from April 8-12. The week-long celebration recognized the contributions of students and professionals in advancing the field of science and technology.

The week began with a keynote address from Dr. Nita A. Farahany, a respected scholar in the ethics of emerging technologies and author of “The Battle for Your Brain: Defending Your Right to Think Freely in the Age of Neurotechnology.” Farahany’s speech focused on the impact of neurotechnology on cognitive privacy laws and the future of cognitive freedom.

On the second day, CAST Connections hosted the CONNECT Event, providing a platform for students to network with recent alumni. The event covered topics such as effective networking, conflict resolution, proper communication, and leadership skills.

At the end of Science and Technology Week, CAST inducted its alumni into the Academy of Achievement. This recognition honored those who are considered “thought leaders” in their respective fields and serve as an inspiration to others pursuing similar career paths.
