The theme for this year’s event is “Native Knowledge for the New Earth,” which will be explored through a keynote address by Ute leader, elder, educator, and author, Forrest S. Cuch. Cuch will discuss how ancient Native American wisdom can guide us towards a sustainable future and touch on important topics such as racism, environmental justice, and climate change.

In addition to Cuch’s presentation, there will be original research presentations by graduating Sustainability and Ecosystem Science students. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in seven virtual breakout rooms to watch short presentations by graduating CMC Sustainability Studies and Ecosystem Science students. The event will be held online, allowing individuals from all over the world to come together virtually.

Those interested in attending can register on Zoom and connect with a diverse group of individuals from CMC’s nine-county district and beyond. The conference promises to inspire and educate attendees, offering valuable insights into sustainability and ecosystem science from a Native perspective.
