Exploring Agriculture and Food Science: A Collaborative Effort for Youth
On Wednesday, July 10th, the Agriculture and Food Science Exploration (AFSE) Day is being held. This event is a collaborative effort between Mower County 4-H, Riverland Community College, Nexus Cooperative, and Austin Community Education. The day is tailored for youth in grades 6-9 who are interested in science, biology, chemistry, engineering, computers, agriculture, mathematics, and food science.
The AFSE Day offers a unique opportunity for participants to explore various aspects of agriculture and food science through engaging tours, hands-on learning labs, and leadership development. Throughout the day, youth will have the chance to learn about agronomy, animal science, and food science by visiting different locations and participating in hands-on activities.
Some of the activities planned include a Corn/Soybean/Drone activity presented by Nexus Cooperative
