Ogier not too worried about Detuned Rally1 cars – DirtFish

Expanding the Field: How Increasing Competition Can Benefit Rally Racing and Attract a Wider Audience.

In my opinion, it is unrealistic for more cars to be fighting for the top spots in the sport. The competition is tough, and the gap between top-performing cars and those struggling is vast. However, I believe that finding a way to increase the number of competitive cars would benefit the sport.

What about the cars that are not at the top level? Would a top tier driver be able to drive a Rally2 car, for example? This concept is not new, as we have seen drivers like Sébastien Ogier switch to less advanced cars in the past. Ogier believes that having more spectacular cars on the track is beneficial for both drivers and fans. However, he also acknowledges that a slight downgrade in performance could still result in an exciting competition, as long as it helps to reduce costs and increase the number of entries in the top category.

Ogier’s thoughts on these issues show that he is not only focused on his own performance but also on the growth and development of the sport as a whole. He believes that more promotion is needed to attract a wider audience to the sport and has considered future events like Croatia Rally in World Championship’s renewal deal. Ogier’s perspective highlights how important it is for us as journalists to look beyond our own personal opinions and consider how our reporting can contribute to shaping a better future for this exciting sport.
