Excited Oklahoma Landscapes Talented Forward: Raegan Beers Set to Join Sooners in New Big 12 Conference

Oklahoma has landed a highly sought-after recruit in former Oregon State standout Raegan Beers, who announced her decision to transfer to the Sooners on social media. Beers, a junior forward, had an impressive 2018-2019 season with the Beavers, averaging 17.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting an impressive 66.4 percent from the field.

During her time at Oregon State, Beers received several accolades for her outstanding play on the court. In her sophomore year, she was named to the conference’s All-Freshman team and recognized as a third-team All-American by the Associated Press. She also earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors and Pac-12 Sixth Person of the Year honors.

Beers chose to transfer to Oklahoma after the program moved from the Pac-12 to the Big 12 in a two-year affiliate membership. She expressed excitement for her next chapter with the Sooners and emphasized hard work and a love for competition as qualities she saw reflected in Oklahoma’s program.

With two seasons of eligibility remaining, Beers joins a talented roster led by head coach Jennie Baranczyk, who has guided Oklahoma to consecutive Big 12 titles and three straight NCAA tournament appearances. As she looks forward to contributing to Oklahoma’s success in their new conference, Beers is confident that her skills and experience will allow her to make a significant impact for the Sooners as they navigate challenges against top-tier competition.

Beers will be joining standout players like Skylar Vann, Payton Verhulst, and Sahara Williams on Oklahoma’s roster for next season. With this talented group of players under Baranczyk’s guidance, it’s clear that Oklahoma is poised for another successful season in the SEC.
